BELFORT Copán 2 Performance Endurance Road Bike

    ABOUT THE BIKE
The Copán 2 is a performance endurance road bike. It is best suited as the upgrade bike for entry-level riders or for new riders that want something a little nicer that will grow with them. It has several features that make it one of the best bikes in its category including a full Shimano drivetrain (shifters, derailleurs, crankset, chain, and cassette), Tektro disc brakes, an X6 Aluminum frame (more on that in a second), and a full carbon fork and steerer.

The Copán's most unique feature is its clear nod to its Mayan culture. The name Copán refers to an ancient city of great importance to Mayan history. Copán was not only an important city, the name itself refers to “the road to the Sky.” Both the name and the detailed artwork on this bike is an homage to the Mayan culture that inspired its design. Copán is an appropriate name for a capable climbing road bike.

The Copán’s geometry is designed to be a compromise between the more upright posture of a traditional endurance road bike and an aero race road bike. The frame is designed from ultralight ultra-strong X6 Aluminum. This frame material is hydroformed to reduce road buzz and vibrations while allowing for responsive power transfer. As a climbing bike, the Copán truly excels. And in the flats, it provides a zippy yet comfortable ride. X6 Aluminum is one of the best aluminum alloys available and boasts ride quality approaching a full carbon frame road bike. Speaking of carbon, the Copán features a fully carbon fork which saves your hands from road buzz. The fork is the first line of defense in the excellent vibration reduction technology engineered into this bike.

The tried-and-true Shimano Sora Drivetrain provides consistent shifting in a lightweight but practical package. The Copán does not cut corners. It is equipped with a full Shimano drivetrain experience. Sora Shifters, Sora Derailleurs, Shimano crankset, Shimano Chain, and Shimano Cassette. The Copán favors durability and performance.

Tektro Mira disc brakes provide consistently reliable stopping power in all-weather conditions. The wheels feature lightweight rims built on thru-axle Shimano hubs. The frame can accommodate tires up to 700x32.

    ABOUT THE  MANUFACTURER

Belfort Bicycles is a brand of high-end mountain and road bicycles. As part of the Veloci Group, founded in 1968, Belfort is one of the oldest and largest bicycle manufacturers in the Western Hemisphere. They are a company that does not spare the details when it comes to quality. There are countless bicycles being manufactured all over the globe, but no other company in North America makes as many high-end bikes as they do.

The company is still owned by the original founder and his four sons. The four sons literally grew up in the factory. Their father saw their enthusiasm for bikes and the business from and early age and cultivated it. He sat each of them down and told them that if they wanted to work in the family business they would have to work every single position within the company. As a result, they learned how to weld, how to paint, how to design frames, how to market the bikes, accounting… literally every responsibility in the business.

The Belfort brand is proudlyHecho En Mexico (made in Mexico). They are very proud of their Mexican roots. They celebrate their culture and heritage at every step all the way down to the names and designs of their bikes. Each model name pays homage to Mayan and Aztec mythology, and each frame design is accented with indigenous art. The Mexican and indigenous traditions of innovation, creativity, and hard work go into every bike that leaves our factory. They do not take it for granted that they are the only brand of their kind to be making the high-end bikes for the North American and Latin American market.
